Bonding With Your Horse
Bonding is a personal connection between you and a ModN Equine horse.
Each player has their own bond with each horse. A horse can belong to one player, but another trusted player can build their own bond if they have ride access.
Opening the Bonding Hub
Open the horse panel with:
/h
Then open My Horses, choose a horse, and look for the bonding option in that horse's detail panel.
The bonding screens can include:
- the Bonding Hub
- the Care & Riding Path
- reward details
- available cosmetic rewards
Daily Grooming
Grooming is the first step in the daily bonding flow.
To groom, use a ModN Horse Grooming Brush on a horse you can interact with.
You usually need to:
- have ride access to the horse
- stand close enough to the horse
- target the horse properly
- hold and use the grooming brush
Grooming primes your bond activity for the UTC day. If you have not groomed the horse today, riding will not award bonding progress.
Care & Riding Path
After grooming, you can build bond progress by riding the horse outside races.
The riding path has three stages:
| Stage | Riding pace |
|---|---|
| Warm-Up Ride | Walk or Trot only |
| Trail Ride | Canter or slower |
| Endurance Ride | Any gait |
Going faster than the current stage allows pauses bonding distance for that stage. It does not cancel the ride or erase the distance you already earned.
Races do not count for bonding progress.
Brush Check-Ins
The bonding path can ask for brush check-ins between riding stages.
If a check-in is pending, use the grooming brush again before continuing. This keeps the bonding loop focused on care as well as riding.
Bonding Rewards
As your bond grows, rewards can unlock.
Reward detail screens show what a reward does and whether it can be activated. Cosmetic rewards can be activated or deactivated from the reward screen.
Mounted cosmetic effects only display while you are riding the horse.
Shared Horses and Bonding
If another player has shared a horse with you and you have ride access, you can build your own bond with that horse.
Your bond is separate from the owner's bond.
Why Bonding Might Not Progress
Common reasons include:
- you have not groomed the horse today
- you are riding during a race
- you are going faster than the current riding stage allows
- a brush check-in is waiting
- you do not have ride access
- you are not riding the horse connected to that bonding path
Good Bonding Routine
- Open the horse's bonding screen.
- Groom the horse with a ModN Horse Grooming Brush.
- Complete the current riding stage at the allowed pace.
- Do any brush check-ins when prompted.
